An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit for Ninth Grade Examining The Individual's Guarantees In The Bill of Rights The individual rights specifically listed in the Bill of Rights form a social contract between the citizen and this nation's chosen form of government. Students cannot appreciate the unique nature of our representative democracy in this world without a full understanding of these rights. The students must also incorporate their understanding of their rights in order to insure the future vigilance of our citizens in safeguarding individual rights.
