An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-Based Unit on Global Human Rights. In an effort to understand the pattern of human rights struggles, it is important to examine the evolution of those struggles. This unit explores the essence of its core, from the charter of human rights, through current world events, which continue to plague our global society. Are there basic human rights? Should these rights be attributed to every human? What happens in a society when human rights are afforded to some but denied to others? These issues reflect a past, yet are still present; a present who's bars of injustice keep progress imprisoned; and an uncertain future, with little positive history to build its foundation upon.
