Oh Zeus! Hera we go again!

An interdisciplinary study of myths, legends, and folktales as reflected by current traditions. In today's world of exploding technological advances and instantaneous communications, it is sometimes easy to lose track of our heritage and the elemental issuese that connect us to all peoples of all times and places. this unit seeks to explore various cultures' search for meaning in a variety of environments. These searches, which sometimes result in surprisingly similar explanations, demonstrate the universal nature of the human experience. By focusing on mythology, folk tales and legends, we are able to tap into a culture's imagination and values system and can, subsequently, identify many sources of our own culture. "Oh Zeus! Hera We Go Again!" attempts to connect our modern scientific community with its roots.
