An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Molecular Chemistry Scientific advances develop incrementally from investigation and analysis made by scientists. These advances have profound effects on society. Students will learn to appreciate the scientific thought and individuals who have contributed to scientific advances. Students are required to gain an elementary understanding of chemistry in their Physical Science course. They will investigate and analyze the physical characteristics of matter as well as describe and explain radioactivity. This unit, explaining the fundamental concepts of atoms, and the atomic theory focusing on the evolution of the atomic model, will give them the solid background for the continued study of science.
