People of the Southwind bringing the Power to the People on Electric Avenue: Or, Who turned out the lights?

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic unit on the generation, distribution and use of electricity. Electricity is large concept area for 6th grade. Electricity is essential to today's modern life. Students will establish a foundation of electrical knowledge learning about the various sources of electricity, how it flows, how it is used in our modern world. Students will have hands on experiences with electricity making circuits using conductors, insulators and various materials and their conductivity. Students will gain a greater appreciation of the role of electricity in their world and the world of others.
