PLOTtin' and GLOBEtrottin' From "ME" to Shining Sea

An integrated, interdisciplinary thematic unit on geography for first grade. Many different people for many different reasons use maps every day. We use maps to plan a route to a destination, to find buildings, even for escape routes out of school. This unit will teach students how to apply the skills of asking and answering geographic questions, organize geographic information, understand directionality and read map legends and symbols.
