An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on quintessential characteristics of a hero with application to class literature and modern day heroic deeds within cultural society. This unit assists students in identification and analysis of the quintessential characteristics of a hero including qualifications, tragic flaws, responsibilities, and arch-enemies. The essential concepts of the unit include cultural relations to modern and classical texts, and interdisciplinary elements including humanities, careers (vocational and academic), and cultural relevancies.
