An integrated, interdisciplinary thematic unit on the Characteristics of True Heroes. Heroes are important for children and young adults because they provide inspiration and someone to model lives after. All too often, young people today choose a celebrity or fame seeker as a hero. Character education has become an essential component necessary in modern education. Students will learn that characteristics of a true hero are those that benefit or enhance, society, not tear it down.
