It is used in our modern world on a daily basis to create the technologies that move us forward and to evaluate these technologies for their potential harm and benefits to mankind and the environment. These applications range from the mundane daily tasks such as filling our car with gasoline or shopping for groceries to the esoteric such as attempting to bring peace in the middle east or cloning animals to make new and improved body parts.
