An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Rhetoric: The poewr of Words to Influence People and Create Change. "The Power of Words" unit is important because it reveals the influence and ability words have on reshaping and often activating the human mind, heart and spirit. The use of words to create change has been a source of power through out history. Whether used for good or evil, words influence thoughts, thoughts influence speech and speech influences action. By analyzing rhetoric, euphemisms, propaganda and bias students will be able to take their place as informed and educated citizens, able to protect the liberties on which our country was founded.
