Rocks and Stones have different tones, and soil is always dirty.

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit studying Rocks and Soil. With rocks and soil being the most abundant resources on the planet, students will investigate their properties and draw conclusions as to their best uses in satisfying the needs of society-both short-term and long-term. Students will gain an understanding of historical perspectives, scientific applications, and emerging scientific issues. This unit will increase students' knowledge of the composition of Earth, the importance of natural resources, and ways to conserve them.
