Scrooge's Choice: To "Bah" or not to "Bah" or Working on the change gang.
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on choices affecting life changes in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol Change is a constant in our world, everything and everyone changes. In this unit we focus on choices. How do the choices we make affect the path of our own lives and the lives of others who we may or may never meet? We examine the choices of Ebenezer Scrooge and the events that influenced his choice. Scrooge chose to accept change and take a different path; affecting not only his life but the lives of others. Understanding that change is a part of life and that a variety of choices will face us everyday is important. Equally important is understanding that our course is not set, we can decide to change our lives despite the conditions in which we find ourselves. We can also refuse to change, but we should consider the consequences our choices will have on ourselves and on others.
