An Interdisciplinary, Integrated Thematic Unit on the Changes of Matter The purpose of the unit is to expose students to different states of matter that can be changed by heating or cooling. The unit will teach students how some common materials can be changed from one state to another through heating or cooling. It is important for students to understand the different matter in their universe and how it can change.
