An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Space. Space and technology is have become part of our daily lives. Young children aren't often aware that people haven't always traveled into space and had computers and cell phones. Many second graders also believe the world revolves around them. Lastly, children need to see that there are many patterns that occur in nature. This unit will help students see how space exploration has changed the lives of people everywhere and view their place in the bigger picture of our world and universe. It will teach children about the patterns that occur in the world around them.
