How we deal with our transitions effects not only ourselves but those around us now and in the future. It is important for adolescents to understand the universal nature of human experiences, such as transitions. In order to interact with other Americans and with people of other societies, it is helpful to understand cultural factors such as adolescent transitions in a culture. Students who study transitions will be better prepared to work through the challenges and opportunities that await them.
