Protecting our environment is critically important because it is threatened by people and development. Animals are losing their habitats. Water is polluted. Vegetation is destroyed. This unit will teach children about the Florida envionment they live in, how it is threatened, and how we must protect it. Therefore, our children need to be ecologically literate.
