The study of genetics is important because of the impact of genetics in the medical community, in the study of forensics, and in ethics with regards to human life. The essential concepts of this unit include DNA structure, DNA replication, asexual reproduction (mitosis), sexual reproduction (microsis), Mendelian genetics and genetic crosses.
