The Art of Being Human

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Unit on the Community. A community is made up of different groups and people who live and work together. Skills learned in a community, such as commonality and Diversity, conflict and cooperation, continuity and change, individualism and interdependence, and interaction within different environments are vital to the continued development of civilization. Third Grade students will learn why and how people in different communities work alone and together to get things done. Students will understand the need for rules and laws important to the common good of a community.
