The B'Earth of a New Frontier or Don't Moon Him, It's Just a Phase.
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Earth and Space. Planet Earth is our home in the solar system. Life exists on Earth and not on any other planet for several reasons. Most importantly, no other planet in the solar system is situated in the right location in space nor has the right resources on and around it to enable live organisms to satisfy our basic needs. Our atmosphere, our distance from the sun, our orbit and tilt all work together to make our planet so special. Students will study those special characteristics and also explore our limited and fragile resources, which are so precious to us. In order to best prepare our students for the best life in the future, we must teach them to protect what we have now. Students will also make a connection between our past endeavors in building a new frontier and how that might be another challenge for us in the future.
