An integrated, interdisciplinary thematic unit on tall tales/ folk talks for 3rd grade. Tall tales and folk tales have been passed down in our country from generation to generation. Many of these provide us with insight into the history of our nation and its heroes/ heroines. This interdisciplinary integrated thematic unit is designed to introduce students to an interesting genre of literature that will not only be entertaining, but also teach them about historical events and characteristics that make up real and make believe heroes and heroines.
