An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on plants Plants have a life cycle that determines their growth. From a seed comes a seedling and then grows a plant. Plants need sunlight, water, and air to grow. Plants are important to humans and animals, for reasons of survival, culture, aesthetics, and tradition. Humans should be responsible caretakers of plants and trees in order to ensure that they continue to flourish for future generations.
