The Disappearing Rainforest

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of the Vanishing Rainforest. Our lives are affected daily by products of the rain forest and the changes in that ecosystem. More than half of the world's plant and animal species live in the rain forest. Students will gain knowledge of the interdependence of the organisms within that ecosystem so that students will make good stewardship decisions with those environmental resources. Humans have an impact on the survival of the organisms within that ecosystem. A change in one component affects another component; nothing exists in isolation. It all spirals to affect our lives scientifically and economically. Damage to one component can have global consequences.
