The Great Depression: A New Deal

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Great Depression for Grade Eight. This unit employs an integrated, thematic approach for 8th grade middle school students to study the Great Depression, its cause and effects, and the New Deal. The Great Depression was such a critical period in our nation's history. Many government programs were introduced during the depresion and are still with us today. The depression impacted the nation as a whole. This unit will teach students how the economic stability of a country affects its people and debate on if it can happen again.
