The Harlem Renaissance or Look Hughes Moving on up

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on the culture of the Harlem Renaissance. The study of the Harlem Renaissance is important so that students understand the effects of the Harlem Renaissance on African American culture in the 20th Century. The emergence of a distinctive African American culture represented through art, poetry, literature, music, and dance during the harlem renaissance significantly influenced the stutus of the African Americans as worthy contributors to the American experience.
