An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic unit on the United States Industrial Revolution America became the leading industrial nation in the world by the early 1900's, leaving behind a culture and economy that after the Civil War had been largely based on agriculture. This rapid and remarkable development of industry led to many historic changes for all Americans. By analyzing the political, economic, and social themes of the Industrial Revolution in America, students will develop a greater understanding of the many reasons for this growth of big business as well as the resulting conflicts and problems that had been solved. The Industrial Revolution had an impact that forever changed us as a people and a country.
