An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on the Settlement of British Columbia through the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The CPR railroad is currently an important economic link between British Columbia and the rest of Canada. This unit will explore the creation of the CPR in British Columbia and its influence on shaping B.C. into the province it is today. The relationships forged with First Nations people and the ethics of building a railway regardless of the human cost will be some of the issues covered in the unit.
