An Integrated, Interdisciplinary study of Space and Exploration People have looked up at the sky with awe and wonder since the beginning of time, marveling at the objects they see and yearning to travel to the far reaches of space. Children often imagine themselves heading off into space to explore new frontiers, perhaps to find intelligent life somewhere beyond Earth. This unit will provide students with the opportunities to explore and better understand the universe in which they live. Students will explore their solar system and learn where they are in relationship to the rest of the universe. They will learn about space travel and the men and women who have made this exploration their careers.
