An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on America's Centennial 1876, America's Centennial year, is being studied in depth as a bell weather for an in-depth study of American society in the late 19th century. The effects of industrialization, unionization, urbanization, Immigration, and technology are investigated in relationship to the aesthetic, spiritual, and ethical values of the day. Comparisons are made with 1776 and today.
