An integrated, interdisciplinary, thematic high school unit on Japan's culture from past to present. Japan has become a major player in world events. Given Japan's global interdependence, it is important for students to understand their Japanese neighbors. The Asianization of America and America's strong economic ties to the Asian market warrants a closer look at this sleeping giant--Japan. Therefore, this interdisciplinar/integrated unit is designed to give high school students an understanding of Japanese culture from ancient times to present.
