  • $5.50

An integrated, interdisciplinary, thematic approach to Roman and American Slavery systems for Fourth Grade Social Studies. Students need to know the meanings of vocabulary terms studied in this unit (civil, union, confederate, seccession, abolition, emancipation, manummission, etc.) They need to understand that slavery systems are not the same in all times and places -- that Roman slavery was different from the American Slavery system. They should also understand the difference between a civil war and a foreign war. Students will also learn Latin vocabulary relating to slavery (dominus/domina, serva, ancilla, libertus/liberta, civis, unus, manus, ex, capere, mittere, etc.) and English derivatives from the Latin vocabulary.
