The Wild West of Ah's
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Westward Expansion Movement of the United States: 1780-1880 Between 1780 and 1880, the United States experienced tremendous influx of people and a westward expansion that reached all the way to the Pacific Coast. For a variety of political, economic, religious, technological and personal reasons, trailblazers, settlers and Native Americans lives were changed. Expansion brought prosperity and advances in technology as well as despair and the ugliness of racism. Students will discover the reasons behind expansion as well as the outcomes and its effects on the country as a whole.
