An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Creating Healthy Environments for Young Children According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Human Needs, the child's physical needs must be met before the child is free to advance to the higher intellectual needs. In this unit, students will learn to create and maintain a healthy environment for the young child, to supervise that environment and to provide activities for young children to promote their good health.
