To Athens and Beyond

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on the Contributions of Ancient Greece. The focus of this unit will examine ancient Greek civilization and its contributions to the world today including geographic, social and political themes. In this day and age of low voter turnout, we need to understand why we are privileged to have the right to vote. By understanding the early governments of the Greeks including the origination of democracy and why participation is essential, students will make connections between ancient history and today's politics.
