An Integrated, interdisciplinary, Thematic Sixth Grade Study of Ancient Egypt Egypt was the birthplace of one of the world's first civilizations. The advanced culture thrived for over 2000 years and became one of the longest lasting and most important cultures in history. This unit was designed to introduce sixth grade students to the culture of Ancient Egypt, the importance of the Nile River on the development of Egyptian civilization and the continuing impact of Ancient Egypt on modern life.
