Understanding the Isms of the World Through a Cow

An integrated, interdisciplinary, thematic Isms of the world. The students at Madison Jr./Sr. High are not exposed to the diverse cultures of the United States. Our students will be given a variety of reading materials to compare the different cultures. They will discuss and present their personal ideas from these readings. The students will work together in small groups to present a cultural diorama in a shoe box. Population is composed mostly Caucasian. There are a lot of biased attitudes amoung our students. The unit is to provide the student with understanding of events, which have happened in the paast that have affected the world in which we live. As it relates to culural Diversity we will show students the facts and allow them to form their own conclusions.
