Victorian Christmas or Yes Scrooge, You Can Be Santa!

An interdisciplinary unit exploring the Victorian era and Christmas This is an integrated unit to study how Christmas started being celebrated after the introduction of Charles Dickens's Christmas Carol. The students will study what was happening during the Victorian era, what was life like for working class in Britain and how that changed after the book was released. The students will also become familiar with identifying different types of evergreens. The students will write poetry and design cards appropriate to this era. The students will do an internet search for holiday customs around the world.
