Visiting Where Gandhi Guru Up or... "Must I Walk the Eightfold Path or Can I Go By Kar Ma?"

An Integrated, interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of Ancient India This unit was developed to introduce sixth grade students to: 1) Important geographic features of the subcontinent and how those features contributed to the development of the culture and how that culture has remained significantly extant. 2) Intellectual and religious traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism and how these beliefs impacted the Indian culture. 3) Appreciate the aesthetic culture of Ancient India. 4) Understand how aspects of Ancient Indian culture and development have impacted Western society.
