War...What's it good for?
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic unit on dealing with violence in the everyday world. Students will consider and increase their understanding of the causes and ramifications of violent behavior among human populations. Violence and conflict have plagued mankind since the beginning of recorded history. Authors and playwrights sell volumes around this theme; theatres beckon the masses; violent video games maximize and engage our youth and music pulses addictively with messages of physical harm. An unwritten policy of toleration has provided several decades of tenuous peace in the 21st Century. We must learn from the cause and effects of violence and foster problem-solving skills or face annihilation.
