An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Culture across the great state of Texas. Communities are becoming widely diverse. These communities are composed of cultures, which bring their own customs and traditions. Students need to be aware and understand different cultures. This understanding will enable them to be empathetic toward the differences of others. It will also prevent misunderstandings that lead to prejudice and stereotypes.
