An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on The Role of Government As we look through U.S. History thematically, the government's role has changed from colonial times to present day. Analyzing this topic will enhance students understanding of government in the United States. This unit encompasses various events throughout United States History. Each topic is based upon what impact they had on United States government and how the government responded to these events. Developing an understanding of government and its components is essential to having a greater appreciation for a significant aspect of United States History. As a part of this unit, students will investigate the role of government as it plays from past to present.
