An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Thematic Unit on the Struggle for Civil Rights in America This integrated thematic unit on Civil Rights allows high school students the opportunity to explore concepts and practices associated with civil rights in the U.S.. Students will understand the legal and social development of our civil rights over time, their incoporation into the popular culture, the impact of changes in civil rights on both advantaged and disadvantaged groups, and the continuing definition of civil rights by the courts and the American people.
