We're All shook Up! or What's New, Delhi?
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary unit for ninth grade on Nationalistic Movements in China, Egypt, India, Iran and Turkey from 1900. Striving for self-rule is a personal and societal goal. In the process of this search, people and societies find many different systems of government. Often times the emphasis in social studies classes is Eurocentric. This unit will emphasize the dynamics of the process of initiating self rule and the systems of government that arose after the ear 1900 including the nationalistic movements in China, Iran, Turkey, and India. Coupled with this study will be literature, mathematics and science which will illustrate the theme of search for self-rule and/or the discoveries, theories, art and literature of this time period.
