An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on "The rainforests of the world". Students need to be aware of the Diversity of the topography of the world., to appreciate the importance of this Diversity, and support the conversation of their natural world so that as adults, they will make enlightened judgments and voting choices, and assume personal responsibility for the world around them (i.e. being "green": conserving energy, not wasting natural products, recycling). They must understand that the humans and other organism depends on protecting the rainforest (the animals need their natural habitat to survive, all benefit from the production of oxygen).
