An integrated, interdisciplinary unit examing the management and disposal of solid waste, including a look at the scientific and social implications of garbage in the modern world. The world is facing an ever-increasing solid waste disposal problem. The amount of solid waste we produce is escalating. When improperly handled it poses a threat to our environment. This unit is written to explore and encourage solutions to this problem.
