An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Third Grade Study of the Westward Movement form the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Third Grade Study of the Westward Movement form the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean.Students will gain an understanding and appreciation of hardships, risks, survival skill, and courage that the early pioneers required throughout the westward movement from the Mississippi River west to the Pacific Ocean. Students will also develop and understanding of the effects of the past on the present.
