What Enquiring Minds Want to Know Discover Weekly

Integrated Unit Teaching Discovery & Inquiry Across the Disciplines of Mathematics, Science, Literature, & History. In the 9th grade, kids are discovering who they are, what they want to be, what they want to do, and what they should & should not stand for- life is discovery. Consequently, the 2001-2002 school year will begin with an interdisciplinary unit on discovery in the four core curricular areas- language, arts, math, science, and social studies. In language arts, students will begin to discover themselves. In math, students will interpret data as well as manipulate other materials in order to problem solve, identify patterns, and develp logical thinking. In science, students will learn some of the transmitted waves. In US history, students will study westward expansion to understand which groups desired to transform their lives discovering new land.
