What's The Matter? Are We Drowning In An Ocean of Air? Or Does The Atmosphere Boyle Down To An Ideal Gas?
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Atmosphere and the Gas Laws. We live on the earth's surface, but we live in its atmosphere. The thin layer of gases that surround our earth is vital to life itself. This interdisciplinary-integrated unit is designed to give the students a basic understanding of the gases that make up our atmosphere and how they are affected by volume, pressure, and temperature. Human made air quality problems began with the discovery and use of fire. The industrial revolution, beginning in the 1700's brought more air pollution. The need to study atmospheric gases, its properties and behavior is becoming more and more important.
