Who is the "Chic"est Link? From La Bamba to Macarena In the Middle is Latin America

An integrated, interdisciplinary unit for sixth grade gifted and talented students examining Latin America and Literature through the causes and effects it has had on American Society. The theme of cause and effect is an essential concept for ture understanding of content. Throught the study of novel and short story and Latin America, students will see the conceptual relationship of cause and effect as presented through literature and historical studies specificaly Latin America. Through the integrated study of Latin America and literature, studetns will see how cause and effect can be explored across the curriculum as an essential concept. By understanding cause and effect relationships students will be able to better make appropriate diceisions that effect theirs and the lives of others.
