Your Country - Love It or Leave It, Learn It or Lose It!

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Ninth Grade Social Studies Unit on the Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship in the United States In view of recent voter apathy, statistics prove that voter turnout across the US has declined significantly in the last decade. To maintain a democratic system, the citizenry should be aware that participation is the fundamental right upon which a democratic government is founded. Civic participation is required of every citizen. This interdisciplinary unit is designed to give students a basic understanding of their rights and responsibilities so that they can make informed choices now and in the future.
